Gua Sha

What  is Gua Sha

This is an ancient healing technique of East Asian medicine which means scraping, coining and spooning. It has been adapted for today’s version being much gentler complementary holistic therapy. Different Gua Sha shaped tools are used such as jade, rose quartz and onyx to perform the treatments on the face and body as required as are the different oils/serums used.

Benefits of Gua Sha

Gua sha facials essentially give your face a mini workout as by stimulating and increasing blood flow, improves lymphatic function, oxygen circulates and gives nutrients to the skin. Resulting in a naturally dewy, glowing complexion which improves skin health to soften signs of aging and support youthful appearance over time with regular use.

The action of gently scraping the Gua Sha tool across the skin aids in serum/moisturizer product penetration to go deeper into the layers of skin to keep it hydrated.

  • Relieves facial tension

  • Reducing dark circles and puffiness under eyes

  • Relieves sinus pressure and are brilliant for  headache sufferers

  • Anti-aging

  • Natural face-lift

  • Can help prevent and clear acne, de-congesting the skin and lessening inflammation

The slow pace of movement and gentle touch are deeply relaxing, instantly activating our parasympathetic (relaxed) nervous state. Relaxing our facial muscles regularly also prevents and fades light expression lines. A natural alternative to Botox.

Gua Sha body treatments

Gua Sha imparts a truly holistic effect on the body. You’ll experience a dramatic release of tension with a Gua Sha body massage.  This manual movement stimulates the lymphatic system, helping our organs function optimally by breaking up stagnation, flowing debris and toxins within the body for easier expulsion. Using deep pressure with a Gua Sha stone can really get into sticky knotted areas to release held muscular tension, so allowing muscles to do their supportive jobs properly.

After care must be followed by drinking plenty of water after the treatments for toxins to seep through the skin.
